Woden's Ride

Woden's Ride

I'm working on upgrading my paper type for note cards. Theres nothing wrong with the old paper stock, but I thought I'd put these on sale while I'm upgrading.

Woden, the Anglo Saxon spelling of the god Odin, is considered one of the leaders of the Wild Hunt. In Germanic Mythology, the Wild Hunt is a host of gods, undead spirits, and other dark beings as well as mortals who were abducted when they could not escape the hunt on winter nights.

The hunt could be escaped by carrying bread and steel. If the hunt was coming after you, you could throw the bread to the wolves and the steel to the hunters as offerings to keep them away. This print represents the early winter nights when the Hunt can be heard on the wind.

Available in standard print or Giclee archival print as well as set of 10 post cards or note cards.
